Here are a few photos from one of our Nature Festival events 🌿

Committee Member and local Prospect resident Rosa Matto led two fantastic workshops in collaboration with City of Prospect.

The first, Garden to Table - Waste Not Cooking with Slow Food, was a great success and the second, Build Your Own Herb Garden for young people was filled with fun and creativity. 🌼

A hands-on experience, our young participants learnt about #slowfood and the basics on how to create a thriving garden even in the smallest space before making their own mini veggie garden to take home. Each participant also received a copy of 'My First Garden' booklet, authored by Rosa. 🐌

A big thank you to Delphine for taking the lovely photos and to committee members Thilini, Rick & Marcelle their help during the events.

Right now, our food system is driven by profit, often at the expense of our health, the environment, and social equity. But imagine a future where farming works in harmony with nature, supports local economies, and promotes fairness for all. On September 8th, Slow Food South Australia signal On September 8th, Slow Food South Australia signalled the change of season with a splendid lunch @downtherabbitholewines Located in McLaren Vale, overlooking the vines to the sea, their flagship restaurant, Fiore, was the perfect setting to celebrate #spring 🌼 Under the extraordinary leadership of Executive Chef Nick Tadija, the Fiore team took us from the kitchen garden to the exquisite dishes, each making a link with the region and its produce. Nick is a Slow Food South Australia committee member and has a long, inspiring history with our international movement. From an early age @nick_tadija has been driven by his passion for creating innovative yet wholesome Italian inspired dishes that are deeply embedded in our South Australian way of life. 🌱🐌 The menu on the day was focused on organic, seasonal, and local produce, beginning with a sourdough focaccia with whipped butter seasoned with beetroot and merlot salt. From the twice cooked goat cheese soufflé to the melt in your mouth lamb shoulder, the dishes sang with the freshest of ingredients from the garden.🌸 Owner and founder Domenic Palumbo spoke to us about his desire to create a memorable, whimsical experience through food, wine, and a playful, imaginative venue. Everywhere we looked, we were rewarded with original ideas. Both Nick and Domenic spoke to us about the love that goes into each dish and glass of wine to ensure we left feeling nourished, amused, and happy.
