Did you know that one-third of the food that is produced in the world is never eaten? And that on average, one-fifth of the food we buy ends up in the bin, costing the average Aussie family $3800 a year? Come and find out what you can do to fight food waste at home, which will also save you lots of money!
The Slow Food SA committee will forage the bottom of their fridges (and the ‘ugly’ and seconds sections of the Adelaide Farmers’ Market) to show how you can transform veggies and bread that have seen better days into the most delicious pot of Italian ribollita.
While our ribollita is bubbling away on the stove, Slow Food committee member Sanne who works for Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, OzHarvest, will share lots of tips and tricks to help you reduce food waste at home.
We’ll finish the evening sharing the ribollita and each other’s ideas for more meals that use up the veggies dwindling at the bottom of our fridges.
When: Thursday 5 July, 6.30–8.30pm
Where: Box Factory Community Centre, 59 Regent St South, Adelaide
Cost: $10
